Four MiG-29K jet fighters designed for the Indian Navy have conducted test flights from Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier in the last two days. Aviaport.ru reports that the test pilots where Russian, but Indian naval officials were onboard the aircraft carrier and observed the MiG-29K test flights.

Large strategic exercise in Russia

Russia is conducting its largest strategic exercise in many years in the High North, “Ladoga-2009”. Drills are being held simultaneously at nine different training grounds, including on the shores of the Barents Sea. Northern Fleet vessels are also participating in the “Zapad-2009” exercise in Kaliningrad.
